HAUTE DOODLES: The Stella Dress

stelladoodleIt all came out as it usually does with my illustrations. What was supposed to be part of something, became the star of a post and the beginning of a new series of them, the Haute Doodles. As you already know, I am a fashion freak. I know my trends and I know my designers. I get really excited when Net-a-porter and Mytheresa.com add new items to their  What’s new categories. I make wish lists about the garments or accessories I would love to own but can’t really afford to buy right now. And I do find extreme pleasure in drawing and coloring those items as well. Hey, if you can’t afford it, you might as well sketch it, print it and plaster it on the wall (for motivational purposes or decorative ones, your choice).

I’ve always been a Spring kind of gal, but this year, Resort became my new personal favorite. Resort has the best of the two worlds, Summery clothes, cheery Spring ones and a little bit of outerwear and knits, heavier garments. The clothes are more wearable, the have a seasonless feeling about them (great investment for your closet) and the collections have perfect timing: they have what you need, when you need it, temperature wise.

Resort 2014 was fabulous, the colors, the prints, the trends were absolutely beautiful and very much my style. One of the strongest collections out there, as always, was Miss Stella McCartney’s. And as always, there was that one dress everyone (or almost everyone) would love to own. You know which one, the shift with the lips, and the hearts and the matches, and the jewels. If I can’t have it, I’ll settle for the sweatshirt, or the Falabella clutch…

Have a lovely week…
